Bill (Ginger) Moorhouse

For those of you who do not know our chairman, Bill (known as Ginger in his army days!) has had a very eventfull life. Bill was presented with an engraved tankard at the 25th Anniversary Camp for over 50 years service to Wombourne Scouting, and for all the stories and experience he brings to 3rd Wombourne Scout Group.

Bills many stories are usually centered around Scouting or his days in the Army, where he was quite a sportsman. As an amatuer boxer Bill won the Leyton Cup in 1949. He also won trophies and titles in hockey, football, javelin and shot putt. These next few pages are just a few photos from his vast collection that he was kind enough to share with us. If you would like to contact Bill then please email Stu (stu@3rdwombourne.net) who will pass on any correspondance.
